Badges explained

Badges show buyers exactly what PerfectPal staff have checked, against documents you provide. Each one names what was checked. Any seller can apply: badges are optional.

Which badges you're offered

Each kind of animal has its own badges, so Settings › Verification lists the ones for the animals on your profile. Badges for your seller type come first. If you raise several kinds of animal, a badge is held per kind.

Applying

1. Under Verification badges, choose Apply for this badge.
2. Read what evidence it needs, upload your documents, and add anything staff should know.
3. Choose Send application.

The badge shows In review until staff decide. Staff may ask a question, or book a video check. When it's approved, it shows on your profile and listings, and you're emailed. If it isn't approved, the page says why and you can apply again.

You can Withdraw application while it's in review.

Renewals

Some badges expire after a number of months. The page says Approved, renew by a date; choose Renew this badge to send new documents before then. Expired badges stop showing.

Verified breeder

For each kind of animal, a set of badges together makes a seller a Verified breeder for it. Badges that are part of the set say "part of Verified breeder". Buyers can filter search for verified breeders.

Health results

Health certificates you add to breeding animals and young are reviewed by staff too. Your page shows how many of your health results PerfectPal has reviewed; anything not reviewed is shown as reported by you.

Permits

A permit badge lets you list species that need a permit where you live. See Permits.

Badges can be removed

Staff can remove a badge that no longer holds, for example after a problem report. You're told why.
