Your media storage
See what uses your storage, by kind, by listing and file by file, and delete what you no longer need.
Your plan includes an amount of media storage (see Plans and limits). Settings › Storage shows how much you've used and what's using it. Only the account owner sees this page, because deleting a file there can take it off your listings and your page.
What the page shows
- Media storage: how much you've used of your allowance, with a bar.
- What's using it: your photos, videos, documents (PDF) and other files, each with its size and how many there are. Part of it may be messages, updates to buyers and records, which always go through, even when your storage is full.
- By listing: the listings and breeding animals whose photos and videos take the most room, largest first, each linking to its page.
- Files: every file, largest first, with where it's used: a listing, your page's picture or cover photo, your gone home gallery, a page of your website (or its draft, or a saved version), or a health record. Not in use shows only the files you could delete without taking them off anything.
Deleting a file
Press Delete beside a file, then confirm.
- A file not used anywhere is deleted when you confirm.
- A file still used somewhere lists the places first. Confirming takes it off all of them (off the listing, your page's picture, the website section showing it, the health record), then deletes it. A health record without its certificate shows your result as you reported it, no longer reviewed by PerfectPal. Look at what's listed before you confirm: the places stay without it.
- Some files stay with what they belong to and can't be deleted here: attachments in messages, updates to buyers, identity documents, files you sent with a badge request and your own animals' records.
A deleted file stops counting toward your storage straight away. It's cleared from storage a little later; the page says by when at the latest. Photos nothing has used for a while are removed the same way.
When you're near the limit, or at it
- Nearly full: once you've used most of your allowance (PerfectPal sets the share), you get an email and the meter moves to the top of your dashboard's overview.
- Full: new photos and videos can't be uploaded until you make room. Everything you've uploaded stays online, and messages, updates to buyers and records always go through. You get an email then too.
To make room, delete what you no longer need here, or choose a plan with more storage: see Subscribe or change your plan.
