Conversations with buyers
Messages from your page's contact form, and how to turn a conversation into a request.
A buyer who isn't ready to apply or ask about a particular listing can write to you from the contact form on your seller page. That starts a conversation.
Where they are
Conversations are in Messages in the site menu, together with the messages on requests and orders. Filter by Selling to see the ones for your seller page. You're emailed when a new message arrives, unless you've turned those emails off (they're optional: see Emails and notifications).
Each person has one conversation with your page: if they write again, it's added to the same one. Team members need the requests area to read and answer them.
Turning it into a request
When a conversation becomes about a particular animal:
- You can choose Turn it into a request, pick the listing, and submit. The request starts as Sent, with the conversation's messages on it, and the buyer is told.
- The buyer can send you a request about one of your listings from the same page. Their messages go with it.
Only listings taking inquiries or applications can be chosen.
Limits that keep messages manageable
A person can only send a few messages in a row before you answer, so nobody can flood your messages. Once you reply, they can write again.
Blocking and reporting
The conversation page has Block and Report under Safety. See Block someone.
