Caring for cardinalfish
Cardinalfish are calm, slow-moving fish that hover in small groups. Banggai cardinals are endangered in the wild, so buy aquacultured fish only.
Groups
Pajama cardinals do well in small groups. Banggai cardinals can squabble as they grow; a pair is often best.
Mouthbrooders
The male holds the eggs in his mouth until they hatch. Banggai babies are large and easy to raise, which is why aquacultured fish are widely available.
Food
Feed frozen mysis and similar foods a couple of times a day.
