Society finches (Bengalese finches) are gentle, sociable little birds that are easy to care for. They're happiest in pairs or small groups and aren't usually handled.
Company
Keep them in pairs or groups; a single finch gets lonely. They get along well with other peaceful finches.
They usually live 5 to 8 years.
Housing
A flight cage that's wider than it is tall, at least 75 cm long, with bar spacing no more than 1.3 cm, gives them room to fly. Offer several perches and a shallow dish for bathing.
Diet
A quality finch seed mix or finch pellet, with greens, a little egg food, and cuttlebone for calcium.
