Care guide
Caring for rainbowfish
Rainbowfish and blue-eyes are active, peaceful schooling fish whose colours develop as they mature. They need swimming room, clean water and groups with more females than males.
Space and groups
Keep groups of six or more in a long tank with open swimming space and some plants. Males display to each other, which brings out their colour.
Water
Most prefer neutral to slightly alkaline water. Juveniles are often pale; colour comes with age and good food.
Food
Feed a varied diet of flakes, micro-pellets and frozen foods.
